Most are from brands already in the raw directory — the ready-to-use version of a butter you can already vet on the facts — and where a brand is in the directory we link straight to its raw shea. A few category leaders that only make finished goods (Nubian Heritage's black soap, for one) are included and labelled as such.
How to read these: “Shea is the hero ingredient” means shea is the base of the formula — usually a waterless whipped butter. “High shea content” means shea is a lead ingredient in a water-based lotion or conditioner. That distinction matters: “made with shea” and “mostly shea” are not the same claim, and most listings blur it. We don’t print prices — cosmetic prices swing by scent, size and pack, so check the live price on each.
